Is it permissible for a woman to give her zakaah to her husband?

Praise be to Allaah.

It is permissible for a woman to give her zakaah to her husband, if he is qualified to receive zakaah, because she is not obliged to spend on him and because it was reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) gave permission to the wife of ‘Abd-Allaah ibn Mas’ood (may Allaah be pleased with them both) to give her zakaah to her husband ‘Abd-Allaah.
